Our Cleaning Operations Team Leader will be reporting to our Deputy Cleaning Operations Manager, this is 1 of 3 posts providing service cover from 06:00 hours – 20:00 hours, 7 days week on a rota basis.
Our Cleaning Team Leader support the day-to-day management of c129 WTE Healthcare Cleaning staff and are vital to maintaining our Trust’s Cleaning and Infection Control policies, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
We currently will be recruiting for 2 positions, both 30 hours per week, permanent roles.
• To be visible on the “shop floor”; supporting Cleaning Operations staff, 
carrying out visual inspections of cleaning standards, ensuring cleaning tasks and cleaning sign off sheets are undertaken and completed in line with the required cleaning standards
• Under the direction of our Deputy Cleaning Manager, support the delivery of the highest standard of cleaning services to patients, staff and visitors
• Play a key role in implementing the proposed new cleaning operations service model to ensure high quality cleaning services are delivered to the NHS National Standards of Cleanliness and to our Trust’s Cleaning and Infection Control policies

Provide excellent customer services to our patients, colleagues and 
members of the public at all times. Communicate effectively and in a timely

• Communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation and with 
patients and external suppliers
• Participate in meetings as required e.g. staff team meetings, cleaning 
standards, matrons’ meetings and operational management team briefings 
as required
• Assist the Cleaning Operations team by providing an effective cascade of 
information to all Cleaning Operations staff
• Maintain good handover processes to supervisor colleagues as part of the 
working rota
• Respond positively to external inspections, such as unannounced CQC or 
Environmental Health attendance, PLACE, recognising when to escalate 
issues to line managers
• Maintain good working relationships with colleagues

• Work in conjunction with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure appropriate 
access is gained in order to clean and operate within specific areas
Actively participate in the provision of quality assurance and performance 
monitoring of our Trust’s cleaning services
• Support our Cleaning Operations Leadership team to ensure all Trust and 
Workforce division targets are met for mandatory/essential training and 
performance and achievement reviews
• Assist with promoting incident reporting within cleaning operations services 
and ensure incidents are managed and reported appropriately and that 
lessons learned are put into effect
• Promote infection control awareness and support monitoring and infection 
reduction measures
• Ensure that all waste is correctly sorted into the appropriate waste streams, 
label and dispose of all waste streams from the ward/department, observing 
all relevant recycling policies and procedures and take to recognised 
designated points
• Investigate and respond to customer, service user and employee 
complaints/feedback thoroughly and professionally, ensuring a robust plan 
is in place to meet service level agreements and patient needs where 
appropriate, or escalate to our Deputy Cleaning Manager
• Support our Deputy Cleaning Manager to effectively prioritise the daily
cleaning operations service and daily staffing allocation against agreed 
rotas, resolving any staffing issues on a daily basis
