We currently have an opportunity for an Commercial Assistant to join our team based in Exeter. Joining us on a full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

The Commercial Assistant will support the contracts and commercial teams in managing contracts for engineering projects. This role involves reviewing, drafting, and maintaining contract documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting in negotiations. It offers an excellent opportunity to build a career in commercial management, providing exposure to contract law, supplier engagement, and project delivery within the engineering sector.

What you'll be doing:

    • Assist in the preparation and review of commercial contracts, including terms and conditions, service agreements, and purchase orders.
    • Support the negotiation process by gathering information, preparing negotiation documents, and maintaining records of discussions.
    • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to contracts and engineering practices.
    • Maintain an organised database of contracts and related documentation for easy retrieval and tracking.
    • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure contract terms are being met.
    • Conduct research on contract-related issues and provide summaries to support decision-making.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to contract performance and compliance.
    • Communicate with clients and suppliers regarding contract terms and conditions as necessary.

What we are looking for:

    • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience in contract administration or related roles, preferably in the engineering sector.
    • Understanding of contract law and commercial regulations is desirable.
    • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
