Purpose
Assisting in our Corporate Department and reporting to the Audit Manager, the Senior will conduct company audits from planning through to completion
Main Responsibilities
· Working on audits as the audit senior
· Site visits at client’s premises and to supervise and support junior members on-site visits
· Supervising and signing off the work of junior members of the audit team, reporting to the audit manager.
· Planning the audit process, research, review current processes and providing recommendations to enhance the client's policies and procedures
· Preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations for non- audit SME’s
· Reporting directly to the manager or partner as required
Skills Required
· Qualified or part-qualified ACA or ACCA with at least 2-3 years of audit experience
· Knowledge of audit and accounting standards, in particular the requirements of FRS 102, FRS 105 and the Companies Act 2006.
· Some knowledge or corporation tax desirable
· Knowledge of income tax desirable but not essential
· Knowledge of charities desirable
· IT skills including basic knowledge of Excel, Word & Outlook
· Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage, Quickbooks or Xero.
· Knowledge of Accounts production software such as CCH desirable but not essential
· Ability to show initiative and work within a team supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff
· Ability to build good client relationships
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with people at various levels
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload in a timely manner while all the time ensuring we exceed client expectations
