About the Role:

As we implement a new Learning Management System (LMS), we’re seeking a Learning Systems & Development Advisor to initially lead the technical and data aspects of this transition. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the detail, understands learning systems and data structures, and is passionate about enabling impactful learning experiences through clean, compliant, and well-managed systems.
 
In the short to medium term, the focus will be on supporting the integration and optimisation of our new LMS. Over time, the role will evolve to include broader responsibilities across the L&D function- such as supporting our Operational training records management (Mandatory/H&S) within this LMS, psychometric assessment administration, learning tracking, and induction programme coordination.

This role will be based in Exeter or Bristol but there will be occasional travel between sites across the business including Bournemouth and Redhill.

What You'll Be Doing:

    • Learning System Integration & Data Management
    • Collaborate with team on the migration of learning records from legacy systems to the new LMS, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
    • Conduct data cleansing and validation to ensure records are structured and relevant.
    • Support administration of SCORM/xAPI content and ensure compatibility with the new platform.
    • Manage end-user queries and liaise with system suppliers to resolve issues.

    • Reporting, Insights & Risk Identification
    • Generate and interpret learning data reports to support compliance, performance tracking, and business insight.
    • Support on the compliance cycle of mandatory and regulatory training.
    • Identify gaps or risks in learning compliance and escalate where appropriate.
    • Develop dashboards and visualisations to communicate learning impact and engagement metrics.

    • Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
    • Work closely with L&D, HR, IT, and compliance teams to ensure system integration and alignment.
    • Act as a key contact for LMS-related queries and support.
    • Provide training and guidance to internal users on system functionality and data best practices.

What We're Looking For:

    • Essential
    • Proven experience working with LMS or LXP platforms (e.g., SCORM file management, user administration, content deployment).
    • Strong understanding of compliance requirements for training data.
    • Experience in data migration, validation, reporting, and troubleshooting.
    • Proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, and dashboard creation.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

    • Desirable
    • Experience working in a regulated industry, ideally utilities, water, or similar.
    • Familiarity with learning design principles and toolkit development.
    • Proficiency in Articulate 360 or similar eLearning authoring tools.
    • Interest in or experience with AI-based content creation tools.
    • Willing to learn about psychometric tools, apprenticeship framework and learning programme delivery.
