Job overview

We are looking for a Waste Team Operative's to work as part of the Waste Department. The job role is to carry out a range of duties associated with Waste to include the collection all types of waste and soiled laundry from across the Trust, ensuring the highest levels of service along with an enthusiasm for sustainability.

At all times the position demands the respect of patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality.

Working with colleagues in a friendly and supportive team where everyone has the opportunity to be the best they can be and ensures that our diverse experiences are valued and respected.

Supporting our patients, staff and visitors, in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all.

  • Good basic education and knowledge of waste procedures.
  • Ability to work under supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to deal with difficult and stressful situations and remain calm in an emergency.
  • Ability to lift, push and walk distances.
  • Experience of working with the general public.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Provide a comprehensive 7 day waste service on a rotational basis.
  • To assist in the induction and training of new staff.
  • To ensure Health and Safety regulations are carried out at all times.
  • To comply with the Trusts personnel policies and procedures.
