As a trusted education recruitment agency with a proven track record of supporting specialist schools and alternative provisions across Devon and the South West, we’re proud to represent this outstanding, child-centred setting that delivers therapeutic and highly individualised education for pupils aged 7 - 16.

The Role:

This full-time, term-time only role offers the chance to work across a secondary specialist site in Newton Abbot with some outreach support at nearby primary and off-site provisions. You’ll play a key part in helping young people with complex needs achieve both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN and behavioural needs
  • Plan and deliver tailored learning and intervention activities
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that help remove barriers to learning
  • Support students both on-site and in outreach/community settings
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to create a consistent, therapeutic learning environment

Who We’re Looking for:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEN, AP or pastoral setting
  • A calm, confident and adaptable approach to situations
  • Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills
  • Committed to inclusive trauma-informed and person-centred support
  • Must have a full UK driving licence, your own vehicle and at least 2 years driving experience
  • Business insurance to transport students if needed (or willingness to obtain)
  • A good sense of humour and a genuine desire to make a lasting impact

Why Work Through Us?

  • Access to rewarding, hard-to-find roles in SEN and alternative education
  • Ongoing support and guidance throughout the recruitment process
  • Opportunities for long-term career progression and inclusive education
  • We partner directly with the provision, so we understand their vision and ethos

If you’re seeking a meaningful role supporting pupils with additional needs in Devon, this could be your next step! Whether you’re already in an education role looking to transition into a more specialist, pastoral support post, we want to hear from you.
