Contract: Full time and part time opportunities - term time only

Salary: £110 - £120 per day (depending on experience)


 

Long-Term Teachers are excited to be working in partnership with a progressive, learner-centred education provider to recruit Learning Mentors across Teignbridge. These roles offer a unique and rewarding opportunity to support young people aged 16 - 25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).


 

This is a community based role, designed for individuals who are passionate about empowering young learners through real-life experiences, helping them grow in confidence, independence and essential life skills.


 

About The Role:


 

As a Learning Mentor, you’ll work closely with young people across a variety of local settings such as libraries, leisure centres, workplaces and community hubs. Your support will focus not just on academic progress, but also on social development, emotional wellbeing and practical life preparation.


 

Key Responsibilities:


 

  • Deliver 1:1 and small group mentoring in community-based settings
  • Tailor activities to meet individual needs, interested and EHCP outcomes
  • Track learner progress and provide regular updates to the wider support team
  • Collaborate with tutors, families and professionals to ensure holistic provision
  • Promote confidence, resilience and personal growth through experiential learning


 

Ideal Candidate:


 

  • Experience working with young people is essential (SEND experience preferred)
  • Calm, reliable and enthusiastic with a learner-first approach
  • Comfortable working independently and flexibly across varied environments
  • Creative, adaptable and proactive in supporting diverse needs
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle
