About The Role:


 

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll be an integral part of a skilled and compassionate team, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a role where every day is different and every breakthrough counts.


 

Your responsibilities will include:


 

  • Supporting students in overcoming emotional and behavioural barriers to learning 
  • Managing and diffusing challenging behaviour with confidence and care
  • Working closely with teachers to keep students engaged and on track
  • Assisting with classroom organisation, displays and tailored learning resources
  • Leading focused intervention sessions and small group activities 
  • Helping foster a safe, calm and encouraging learning space


 

What We’re Looking For:


 

We’re seeking someone who is:


 

  • Passionate about making a difference
  • Resilient, calm under pressure and emotionally intelligent 
  • Experienced in working with young people (in education, care or support roles)
  • Confident in behaviour management and building rapport
  • Able to drive and hold - or willing to obtain - an Enhanced DBS on the update service
