Are you a passionate and patient individual with a genuine desire to support young people with special educational needs?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support pupils aged 7 to 16 who have autism and associated needs. Many of our learners have experienced difficulties in mainstream education and may display school-based anxiety, avoidance behaviours, or challenging behaviour as a result of previous experiences. They all have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in place, outlining a range of complex, overlapping needs.

The young people you will support may present with a variety of communication, emotional, behavioural, and sensory processing differences. You will play a vital role in helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn, using a calm, consistent, and pupil-centred approach.

What the school are looking for:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (particularly autism)
  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Confidence supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
  • A team player who is flexible, reliable, and committed to inclusive education
