Role: Supply Teaching Assistant
Location: Newton Abbot
Contract: Flexible Hours - long term opportunities also available
Start: As soon as possible
Salary: £100 - £110 per day
Are you looking to make a real impact, even if it’s just for a day or two a week. Do you thrive in creative, inclusive environments where no two days are the same and every student has a story worth listening to?
We’re working with an incredible special school in Newton Abbot, a purpose-built, community-rooted academy that supports pupils aged 7 to 16 with a diagnosis of Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) or related social and emotional challenges. They’re currently seeking flexible and committed Supply Teaching Assistants to join their team of passionate professionals who are reshaping education, one learner at a time.
Why You’ll Love This Role
This is no ordinary school. It is a place where therapy dogs, Lego therapy, immersive learning rooms and emotional logic all play a part in a child’s day. As a supply TA, you’ll slot into a vibrant, supportive team that puts relationships, regulation and readiness to learn at the centre of everything.
Here, education is holistic: built on the PIECES curriculum which focuses on communication, resilience, independence and self-regulation. You’ll support pupils in both structured classroom sessions and therapeutic or outdoor learning environments. Whether you’re stepping in for a single day or over a longer-term cover, you’ll be part of a consistent, caring approach that transforms lives.

Whether you’re a seasoned SEN TA or someone with transferable skills (youth work, care, creative education etc), if you bring the right attitude and passion, you’ll be a welcome addition to this extraordinary team.
