We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the Trust’s newest specialist settings, opening this summer in the picturesque Tavistock area of Devon. This brand-new provision is designed to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and anxiety related to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). All pupils will have an EHCP and will benefit from a highly nurturing, personalised approach to education.

As a long-standing partner of the Trust, we already successfully support a number of their schools with staffing and have a deep understanding of their values, culture and commitment to high-quality SEND education.

The Role:

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping a new educational setting for students aged 7 - 16 with complex needs. The role includes:

  • Delivering individualised, trauma-informed teaching and intervention strategies
  • Supporting pupils experiencing emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)
  • Leading outreach learning in alternative settings as needs
  • Collaborating with families, external agencies and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Contributing to staff training and development around best practices in autism and SEMH support

Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking an empathetic and motivated teacher who is:

  • Experienced or deeply interested in working with pupils with SEMH and ASC
  • Has qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Committed to inclusive education and restorative, child-centred practice
  • Confident in creating a structured, safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Flexible and resilient, with a solution-focused mindset

Why Work With This Trust?

  • Access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme
  • Strong CPD and career progression opportunities
  • A focus on staff wellbeing and work-life balance
  • Health care scheme and generous employee benefits
  • Part of a collaborative network of SEND specialists across the South West
