About the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority:
The Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority is the dedicated Victorian Government entity entrusted with the care, protection and sustainable management of one of Australia’s most breathtaking and culturally significant coastal regions. Established under the Great Ocean Road and Environs Protection Act 2020, the Authority was created to address the complex and fragmented management of the coastline and ensure the long-term conservation of this iconic landscape.
By November 2025, GORCAPA will be responsible for managing more than 170,000 hectares of coastal reserves, National Parks, Marine Sanctuaries and foreshores stretching along 355 kilometres of stunning coastline. This includes high-profile sites such as the Twelve Apostles Visitor Experience Centre and Cape Otway Lightstation, as well as local ports, community reserves and critical marine environments.

About the Commercial and Visitor Economy Team:
The Commercial and Visitor Economy team are responsible for the management and growth of revenue generating work streams within the authority. Additional income comes from issuing leases, licenses and permits for various commercial and one-off activities and events along the coast.
New revenue streams associated to visitor contributions are being developed and will be implemented as the associated regulations are passed in parliament and the commercial team continues to explore other revenue creating opportunities to support our self-funded operating model.
The Commercial team is responsible for the delivery of safe operations, management of costs to ensure profitability, marketing of all saleable products to create growth and transparent management of all leases, licenses and permits.
Position Purpose:
The Twelve Apostles Visitor Experience Centre (VEC) Coordinator provides high-level support across secretariat duties, stakeholder liaison, enquiry correspondence, undertaking research and analysis to collate information, project status reporting and assisting in the management of funding agreements and board reporting.
The VEC Coordinator plays an important, collaborative role to organize key activities, ensuring the team is tracking towards successful implementation and operational commencement of the Twelve Apostles Visitor Experience Centre.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Track project schedules, milestones and strategic planning initiatives.
• Coordinate project governance including meetings, agendas, minutes, and action items.
• Manage internal and external supplier coordination for operational delivery.
• Act as primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders (government, consultants, suppliers).
• Facilitate information flow and gather feedback to support operational readiness.
• Handle confidential information in compliance with Privacy Act requirements.
• Professionally represent the Authority to all external parties.
• Develop and maintain document control systems for operational approvals, policies, procedures, and contracts.
• Prepare reports and papers for Board and related Committees.
• Monitor and escalate project risks and considerations, as required
• Support policy and procedure development for VEC operations.
• Coordinator recruitment, training logistics and system implementation.
• Ensure compliance with OHS, organisational policies and legislative requirements including cultural heritage assessments.
Qualifications and experience:
• Qualifications in construction, project management, business administration, planning, event management or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years' experience in a similar position.
• Extensive experience with procedures and systems including document control, data entry and file management in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in project coordination, administration, event management, or operations support within a dynamic environment is highly regarded.
• Experience engaging with various internal and external parties in a professional capacity.
Knowledge and skills:
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Ability to adjust and adapt to changing work demands whilst meeting service commitments in a fast-paced environment.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate information clearly and professionally including ability to write reports and engage with stakeholders in all aspects of project delivery.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach to task management, demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn and take ownership.
• Demonstrated high level proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications to produce high quality project documentation, diagrams and presentations through word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.
• Proficient in building positive relationships and work collaboratively with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
